Understanding Assessment...

...as a tool for diagnosing managerial and leadership comptence - it can be a great positive experience for participants if:

  • They can perform in a professional context (scenario),
  • They need to face challenging situations and assignments,
  • The observation is fair, objective and potential oriented,
  • The feedback focusses on competencies and behaviours ,
  • Strengths and areas for development are revealed in a constructive and motivational manner. 



Together with colleagues, we have been offering assessments for recruiting / selection or developmental purposes, 
for individuals or groups, 
ONLINE or ONSITE.

Conceptual work

For several years, I have worked with clients from different industry sectors to develop assessment materials such as:

  • Scenarios  
  • Exercises / role-plays including assignments for candidates and assessors 
  • Evaluation and administration material (scoring sheets, schedules, competency matrix, exercise matrix, results matrix, report format)
  • Assessor training (competency-based observation)

    Online                                                                    Onsite

Online Assessments offer the following benefits: 

  • Minimal costs for travelling and facilities,
  • Less infrastructure needed,
  • Online simulation may be closer to day to day business,
  • Role-plays  and exercises can be as effectively performed online as onsite
  • Same logistical efforts as with assessments onsite.

Assessments onsite have an added value because:

  • Participants get to know each other more directly,
  • Participants experience interaction more intensely,
  • Participants are more in move,
  • Participants are taken out of their office context,
  • Participants can have exchange with peers,
  • Participants can create a different self-awareness
